carl omaye

senior care pastor

“Hi, my name is Carl.  Most people in this church remember me as Pastor Carl, because I was senior pastor here many years ago.  Now I’ve been asked to assist in the ministry to my fellow seniors.  The Bible is filled with examples of people God called into ministry in their later years.  For example, Moses began leading the children of Israel when he was 80.  It has been said that you can retire from the pastorate but not from ministry.  Seniors, all of us on the staff are here for you.”

Shirley Chai

Children's Ministry director

“Hi, my name is Shirley and I am the children’s ministry director here at AFMC. I grew up in Arcadia, CA and graduated with a B.A. in Child Development and an emphasis in multi-subject credentials at Cal State Los Angeles. I’m married to Michael Chai since 1991 and we have 3 children and 1 grandson. I enjoy baking, dancing, and outings with friends. One of my favorite ways to connect with God is setting intentional time and space with Him and in Him - whether it’d be Bible study, quiet time, or meeting with a friend. I love the people at AFMC - their humility, loving others through sacrificial service, and grace! I hope people will find their “home” at AFMC and every person will come to know Jesus as our Lord, our Hope, and our Rescuer.”

Gracie rungsarangnont

Youth COORDINATOR

Hi, my name is Grace Rungsarangnont but I'm known by many names, including Gracie, mommy, and more recently as simply a grunt noise. I have the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom to two adorable yet crazy kids, Ellie and Jacob, and if I'm not with them then I will either be baking, reading a book, or crafting. I was born and raised at AFMC and although life has taken me away for a good portion of my adult life, I have come back and am serving as the Youth Coordinator/Director. I hold many degrees in many different subject areas but my passion in life has always been to nurture the younger generation and walk alongside them in hopes that they will grow into who God has meant them to be.
